Last night and a couple nights before, my cat, Pyro, for some reason starting letting out some really strange sounds… I have no clue what the heck is up with him, but he tends to get into these moods and two nights now, make be think … WTF? Lets see, the first night was Friday night, early Saturday morning. I woke up, as always, around 4am. I herd some cat crying. Listening to it closely, it sounded like some cat got into some serious trouble — my first thought was “oh no, Pyro must have chewed through a power cable!” This thought came about as I did find a power cord chewed partially through in my move, and I was just working on my electrical wiring just that Friday.

So, I frantically look around for Pyro. I hear the “scream” again, but it’s faint and it came from the other side of the house. I call his name and just as I walk into the living room, here he comes walking out all curious and happy from the other side of the house. “What the hell?” I thought. I listen again for the noise and it’s gone. I just looked at Pyro, at this time he’s all jumpy and wanting to play, and just told him, “don’t to that.” And then I went back to bed.

Now, last night, it happened again, but this time, it was something completely different. It was like a cat trying to sing badly. I thought they saw a cat outside or there was a cat outside. I got up to locate the noise and sure enough, just as I hit the front room, here comes Pyro out the other end of the house with Ice right behind him. Like himself, he jumps onto his little cat pedestal and starting wiggling around “play with me!” thing. I just laughed, went back to bed again.

Out of the three years I’ve had both of them, I have never herd them say anything like I herd the past couple nights. Who knows, tonight, I might very well hear it again. We shall see. When the two play, Pyro tends to make up his own dialect of the feline language.
