Yay, ugly characters gone!
Three hours and I have been unable to figure out what the hell was causing the “pretty text” to be formatted into very ugly ascii characters on my personal site. So, I removed them. I didn’t need curly quotes or single char “…” representation anyway. The pretty text is still viewable within the body text, but they have been removed from the titles.
Now that is out of the way, I have finally updated my personal site to Zend Framework 0.6.0. Would have updated it much sooner, but I completely spaced out on the Zend_Feed fix I had to add to the code and had to relearn that bug all over again. The sites are also now running under PHP 5.2.0 with a noticeable speed increase, too.
Sorry about the last of updates. It has been a busy time around here; I’ve just been slacking in the posting. Told ya before, I’m not very good at this blogging thing. I tend to post everything on forums instead of “on a blog.” Any case, I’ll see what I can about keeping on that again.
And sorry about the lack of a Costa Rica write up. I think it’s a bit late one to put one up now … all well. Next time I hit up on a trip, I’ll be sure to have something better in place for updates.
Oh yeah, and I also fixed the formatting problems on my personal site when viewed in IE7 and enabled the nag-splash regardless of version of IE you’re running.
